There were times that some guys made me feel like they prefer gals who are intelligent but remain silent most of the time when it comes to decision or discussion. For them, it seems to me, gals who are silent but understand everything are those who are virtuous. That is, the definition of a "desirable babe" may refers to a pair of silent lips or a docile body.
Bodies could be docile and perhaps manipulatable; yet thoughts are exactaly what dominate the will of one. Of course, the result of a docile body, mind and will has to be in a highly disciplinary society. Nevertheless, society like Gilead, could control people's will and behavior. It didn't yet permeate every mind but the controlling power endeavor to penetrate people's mind and body through external forces on the bodiies.
Could it be possible that those bodies which cooperate with the external orders of the dominating power actually agree, at least partially, on the violent power? Could these bodies pretend to rebel in the appearance but in reality, they agree with the assimilating discipline?
