With our friends' help, we are settling down here at Oak Park where Hamingway was born and Frank Wright had his famous architecture work marked his name in history.
One stroll in the downtown, you see beautiful views with a lot of green and vintage town-houses and single family houses. It's only 8 miles from Michigan Lake and pretty close to downtown Chicago. The life going on here is busy all right yet not really hectic and hustle bustle around.
After a whole week's effort, we finally are settling down in a gorgeous little appartment where there are merely twelve tenants living. The appartment we are staying is spacious and luminous, with a quiet neighborhood and greenery on the avenue the apartment is situated.
Upon seeing the apartment, we fell in love with it; all of the tiredom, frustration and disagreement we had been through the past couple of days were defused. Before we acknowledged of the infatuation we fell for the apartment, we signed the lease and started to move in this week. Well, it sounds impulsive but actually it's really a good deal...at least so far our small circle of friends who have lived here in Chicago agreed with us.
It's a good beginning as I am still bewildered and blind about my plan further. I try to breathe in deep and keep myself going with a positive attitude. Yes, look on the bright, they say, and things will get better and better. Settling down in this apartment, I also pray for the coming peace and calmness within my heart, which hopefully would be enriched by this new life, new environment and new perspective.
